NM Collector Software - JE Edition

#########

Any collection any platform ... Windows, Mac and Linux.

To avoid data loss, please backup your data before using this beta version!

Instructions for use:

NOTE: The beta is currently only available for Windows and Linux systems. Also, the jar file is not yet signed with a certificate from a certification authority so you may get warnings when downloading and running it. That will come later once I have a final version.
  1. Ensure you have a current installation of NM Collector Software. If you don't have one you can get it here: Download NM Collector Software.
  2. Backup your current database (nmcswDB) to a safe location! Please see Backup and Restore Help Desk article for detailed instructions.
  3. Download the beta jar file ( NMCollectorJE6_v3_Beta.jar) to your current installation directory.

NOTE: It will not work if you do not download it to your current installation directory.

  4. Navigate to the NMCollectorJE6_v3_Beta.jar file that you just downloaded to your NM Collector Software installation directory and double click it to run the beta program. This should work on most windows systems. For Linux, run the program from a command prompt with java –jar NMCollectorJE6_v3_Beta.jar.
  5. Provide feedback. I prefer public forums so we can have open disucssions with as many participants as possible. Please post to your favorite forum and let me know where you posted your comments so I can participate in the discussion.

Thanks!

* For those who like the way it originally worked, which was the majority of people when I initially developed the software, you can still have it work that way for you. Just go to the Options menu and deselect "Automatically Apply Changes."
