Any collection any platform ... Windows, Mac and Linux - currently broken in Mac OS X Sierra - working on a solution now -



This option gives you the most flexibility.  It is intended to be downloaded to a USB Flash drive that you can then use on any computer and any operating system - giving you a truly portable software option.  This is the preferred download option.

 Note :  Requires at least Java 6 on your computer.   Most computers come with it already installed. Instructions:
  1. Download archive:  USB_Drive_Template.zip 
  2. Extract the contents to your USB Flash Drive - be sure to copy the contents to the USB Drive - not the folder itself.  Be sure to install to the root of the drive.  Here is Installation To USB Video that demonstrates the process.
  3. When extracting files, if given the opportunity, please be sure to select "Use folder names"
  4. Run in accordance with platform as listed below.
  5. Start Entering Data (video)
With the USB flash drive you can run the software on any computer you want without installing it on any computer. All that is required is that the computer you want to run it on have Java 6 installed which is easily obtainable for Windows, Mac, and Linux operating systems.


To Start NM Collector Software in Windows

Run NMCollectorJE6.exe

Recommended Best Practice:

It is best to copy the software from the USB flash drive to your main computer's hard drive and run it from there rather than directly from the USB flash drive. It will run substantially faster off of your hard drive than from the USB flash drive.

You can then back up your data to the USB flash drive on a regular basis for safe keeping. You can still use the USB flash drive on any computer you want including those of friends and family if you choose to share your collection with them.
