Installation

Since there are many installation options this topic can be confusing.  If you want the option that will work for Windows, Mac, and Linux, please download the USB option.  This option can be installed on a USB flash drive for use on any computer and / or it can also be installed directly on any computer.  The main difference between this option and the other options is that it contains the code for all operating systems while the individual operating system options contain only the code required for that system.

The download page has detailed instructions for each option.  Please carefully follow those instructions and examples for whichever option you chose.

It is imperative that Java be installed and operating properly on the computer you wish to run the software on.  Detailed instructions for installing and verifying that Java is installed and operational are available on the download and support pages.

Finally, for Windows Vista and up, as documented in the Known Issues page, please do not install the program to either of the "Program Files" directories.  This will result in your data not being saved so you will lose all of your work after you close and re-open the program.
