Backup and Restore

It is imperative that you backup your data in a way that you can easily restore it.  There is backup and restore functionality provided within the program but it has been found to not work properly on every system.  Until that problem can be identified and resolved it is best to backup and recover through your file system as follows.

1. To backup your data, simply copy the folder named nmcswDB to a safe location that you can recover from if necessary.
2. To restor your data, simply copy the nmcswDB folder back to your installation directory.

NOTE: The folder named nmcswDB is your database so don't ever make any changes to the contents of this folder or you can, and most likely will, corrupt your copy of NM Collector Software and render it unusable!

You can also copy the entire contents of the NM Collector Software directory to any location for easy use or recovery.  In fact, that is a subject of a best practice found elsewhere in this knowledge base.
