Answer: Please see Import Data From NM Gun Collector Some
additional
common questions and answers:
Q: How do I add a new item?
A:
Select the collection that you want to add the item to by clicking it
once in the tree on the left. Click the "Ins" (Insert) button
just
above the tree. This will add a new item to the selected
collection.
You can now add/edit data for that item on the right hand side of the
page.
Q: How do I create
a new item based on an existing item?
A: Select the item you want
to
copy by clicking it once in the tree on the left. Click the "Dup"
(Duplicate) button just above the tree. This will copy the
current
item and add a new item with the same Identification, Description,
Receipt, and Disposition data. You can now add/edit data for that
item on the right hand side of the page.
Q: How do I delete
your sample items?
A: Select the item to delete by clicking it once in the tree on the left. Click the
"Del" button just above the tree.
Q: How do I add a
folder of items within a collection?
A: The folder is a way to
capture items that are associated with another item. For example,
my
sample data has a rifle with several bayonetts associated with
it. To
associate items with another item simple move the items below the item
you want to associate them with in the tree and then select one of the
items and click the "Dem" (Demote) button just above the tree.
This
will make the selected item subserviant to the item above it making the
other item a folder. You now drag and drop other items below the
folder item to associate them with it.
Q: OK, so I made a folder
and now I have an item in the folder that shouldn't be there. How
do I unassociate an item from another item?
A:
Several ways. One is just to drag it out of the current location
in
the tree and drop it where you want it in the tree. Another is to
select the item and then click
the "Pro" (Promote) button just above the tree. This will make it
no longer subservient to the folder above it.
